As you may already know, April is Earth Month – a month for focusing on the promotion of grass roots programs; in part to eradicate “Environmental Apathy” by providing necessary awareness, knowledge, education, stewardship and activism towards global environmental issues.
During Earth Month each year on the 22nd we recognize Earth Day. Earth Day is the largest environmental event in the world. More than six million Canadians—including nearly every school-aged child—participate in an Earth Day activity in their communities. Hundreds of organizations form partnerships and support networks across the country, as they engage Canadians in annual celebrations of this special day.
Founded in 1990, Earth Day Canada is a national environmental charity. They offer free, year-round, award-winning programs to educate and inspire Canadians of all ages, backgrounds and sectors to reach local environmental solutions. Their mission is to foster and celebrate environmental respect, action and behavior change that lessens our impact on the earth. Find out more about their programs on their website: https://earthday.ca/
In support of this great cause, ERA will be offering free pickups* for the entire month of April 2016. In addition, we’ll be having trees planted in the names of our top 5 donors (based on number of items collected) throughout the month through our ongoing partnership with Tree Canada.
Tree Canada winners will be contacted and announced by May 5th. If you have any further questions please do not hesitate to contact us, [email protected] or 1.877.9.EWASTE (1.877.939.2783)
